Recreational

The Issaquah Soccer Club’s Recreation program is one of the largest in the State of Washington. It provides a fun and safe environment for children ages 4-18 to enjoy the beautiful game of soccer. Recreation soccer is not about winning! The emphasis is on participation, learning and acquiring life skills. Providing great value, with fields conveniently located within the Issaquah School District, ISC has a program that is perfect for your child. We have an excellent staff that can help you, Rozana Knutson is the Recreation Coordinator and supports the coaches and managers with the administration of the teams.

Micro Academy (U5-U7) Sept – Oct

The Micro Academy introduces the game to our youngest players. Each session is split into training and games that will be coordinated by our professional coaches from the Gunners program. At the beginning of each session everyone will come together for a demonstration of a drill or skill that you will be working on. Following the demonstration, you will return to your field. At that time you will have your players work on the drill or skill that was demonstrated. After the players have had an opportunity to practice the new skill, they will move on to small sided games.

U5 and U6 will play 3 v 3.  Sessions will take place at Central Park turf starting Sept 6th.  Exact time TBD but between 5pm and 8pm.  Schedule

U7 will play 4 v 4 (3 +1  goal keeper)  (this was a change in 2012.) New for 2013,  during the week they will have one practice with the assigned coach. Coach will submit a practice request form.  U7 teams will come together for the demonstration and then follow up with practice and a game on Friday evenings.

Winter Academy 2013 – 2014 (Nov – March)

You are never too young to receive the correct teaching, regardless of what subject or sport.  Proper foundations put in place at the younger ages can only help in accelerating the development of a child.  ISC’S Winter Academy gives players the opportunity to experience high-level professional training and game understanding over a sustained period.

Spring Micro Academy 2014 (May – June)

Our spring Micro Academy program is a 5 week Friday evening program for ages 4-7.  Teams will be formed with a maximum of 6 players and games will be played in a 3 v 3 format.  Sessions will take place at the Lake Sammamish State Park grass fields starting at 6pm and the first session will be May 30th.  Cost is $75 and includes a team t-shirt.

Mod Soccer (U8-U11) Aug – Nov

Mod Soccer means modified soccer. This is a developmental soccer program for younger players ages 7(U8) – 10(U11) years old. The emphasis of the game is on skills development. The team rosters are smaller and the fields on which they play are also smaller. Goalkeepers and referees are introduced. The size of the field and number of players increase from U8 to U11.

11 A-Side Soccer (U12-U18) Aug – Nov

The 11 a-side or “full field” program provides a fun and rewarding atmosphere where players continue to develop soccer skills, foster friendships, and stay physically fit.

Volunteer Opportunities

Coaching

ISC relies heavily on volunteer coaches to make the Recreation program a success.

We provide coaching education sessions throughout the year. We started continuing education  for our Recreation coaches July 2012 and plan to continue with the coaches education.  All sessions are at the Lake Sammamish State Park Soccer Complex.  Sessions can be found under the coaching info  section.

Visit the Coaches Corner  for  NSCAA and USSF courses in 2014.

Each Recreation coach will also receive a complimentary Nike Club jacket, T-shirt, or Crew sweat shirt (while supplies last) as a thank you for helping the kids learn this great game.

Click HERE to register to coach.

Refereeing

ISC needs you to ref some games this season. Refs get paid decently for their time and it offers a great way for young players to learn the details of the sport. If you are interested in refereeing some games this year, click HERE to visit the EYSA referee information page.
