Recreational
The Issaquah Soccer Club’s Recreation program is one of the largest in the State of Washington. It provides a fun and safe environment for children ages 4-18 to enjoy the beautiful game of soccer. Recreation soccer is not about winning! The emphasis is on participation, learning and acquiring life skills. Providing great value, with fields conveniently located within the Issaquah School District, ISC has a program that is perfect for your child. We have an excelleant staff that can help you, Rozana Knutson is the Recreation Coordinator and supports the coaches and managers with the administration of the teams.
Micro Academy (U5-U7) Sept – Oct
The Micro Academy introduces the game to our youngest players. Each session is split into training and games that will be coordinated by our professional coaches from the Gunners program. At the beginning of each session everyone will come together for a demonstration of a drill or skill that you will be working on. Following the demonstration, you will return to your field. At that time you will have your players work on the drill or skill that was demonstrated. After the players have had an opportunity to practice the new skill, they will move on to small sided games.
U5 and U6 will play 3 v 3.
U7 will play 4 v 4 with a goal keeper (this was a change in 2012) New for 2013 U7 teams will come together for the demonstration and then follow up with practice and a game. During the week they will have one practice with the assigned coach. Coach will submit a practice request form.
Mod Soccer (U8-U11) Aug – Nov
Mod Soccer means modified soccer. This is a developmental soccer program for younger players ages 7(U8) – 10(U11) years old. The emphasis of the game is on skills development. The team rosters are smaller and the fields on which they play are also smaller. Goalkeepers and referees are introduced. The size of the field and number of players increase from U8 to U11.
11 A-Side Soccer (U12-U18) Aug – Nov
The 11 a-side or “full field” program provides a fun and rewarding atmosphere where players continue to develop soccer skills, foster friendships, and stay physically fit.

Volunteer Opportunities
Coaching
ISC relies heavily on volunteer coaches to make the Recreation program a success.
We provide coaching education sessions throughout the year. We will be starting a continuing education program for our Recreation coaches starting July 2012. All sessions are at the Lake Sammamish State Park Soccer Complex from 5pm -8pm. Sessions are scheduled July 25th, August 8th and 22nd, September 5th and 19th, October 3rd.
Visit the Coaches Corner for courses in 2013.
Each Recreation coach will also receive a complimentary Nike Club jacket, T-shirt, or Crew sweat shirt (while supplie last) as a thank you for helping the kids learn this great game.

Refereeing
ISC needs you to ref some games this season. Refs get paid decently for their time and it offers a great way for young players to learn the details of the sport. If you are interested in refereeing some games this year, click HERE to visit the EYSA referee information page.
