LAGRANDE, Ore. – Winning the 2012 Cascade Collegiate Conference championship has earned Northwest University women’s soccer coach, Erin Redwine, the Coach of the Year award as voted by her fellow coaches. This is the second consecutive year for Redwine being honored for the award as she was also voted CCC co-Coach of the Year last season.
“I am so honored to be named Coach of the Year,” commented Coach Redwine. “This year’s team truly inspired me to do everything within my power to set them up for success. They earned my full respect and attention because of their hard work and commitment to stick to our vision even through difficult times. I have never coached a more enjoyable and driven group of women. I believed this 7th year was going to be a year of “rest and freedom, completeness and perfection” and it was. After all, the Sabbath produce resulted from 6 years of sowing.”
In addition, seven Eagles were named to the All-CCC first team, second team and honorable mention honors.
Senior Stephanie Cummins of Renton, Wash., was also named co-Defensive Player of the Year along with Jenna Peterson from Concordia. Cummins helped lead her Northwest University (9-9-2, 7-1-1 CCC) teammates to a CCC regular-season championship with seven wins and 22 points; one point ahead…more
